Description
The term “Press Oils” primarily refers to oils that have been extracted from seeds, nuts, or fruits using mechanical pressure rather than chemical solvents or high heat. This method is often associated with the production of high-quality edible oils.
In the context of the extraction method, “Press Oils” can be categorized into two main types:
Cold pressed oil is the gold standard for nutritional quality. It is extracted by crushing seeds or nuts using a screw or hydraulic press where the temperature is strictly controlled to minimize damage from heat.
Hot pressed (or standard Expeller Pressed) oil is extracted using mechanical presses where the seeds are often roasted or heated prior to or during the pressing process.
