Description
Multi-Grade Engine Oil is the standard engine lubricant used in nearly all modern vehicle engines (gasoline and diesel). It is engineered to perform effectively across a wide operational temperature range, from freezing cold start-up conditions to extremely hot operating temperatures. This dual-performance capability is achieved through the inclusion of specialized Viscosity Index Improvers (VIIs). These are polymer additives that resist thinning at high temperatures. The oil is identified by a dual rating format, XW-Y (e.g., 5W-30), where ‘XW’ indicates the oil’s cold-start performance and ‘Y’ indicates its hot-running viscosity.
